ICB Advanced Bookkeeping Home Study Course
Once you’ve completed the home study Essential Bookkeeping course you’ll be able to:
• Understand the principles and requirements of The data Protection Act
• Calculate closing stock using FIFO, LIFO and AVCO principles
• Undertake post-trail balance adjustments and provisions
• Enter and correct entries for disposal of fixed assets
• Produce an extended trial balance
• Derive missing data and rectify incomplete records
• Explain the concepts of going concern and business entity
• Complete trading accounts for partnerships
• Prepare manufacturing accounts
• Complete trading accounts for limited companies
Qualification
You can study this bookkeeping course for personal interest and development without assessment. However, the course covers the requirements of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Level 3 Diploma in Manual Bookkeeping. If you'd like to obtain this qualification you'll need to register independently with the ICB and submit for the examinations which are held three times a year at centres worldwide. Membership and examination fees are payable to the ICB and are not included in the course price.Course Syllabus

4. Trading, profit & loss accounts and balance sheets for the sole trader

11. Control accounts, suspense accounts and the correction of errors
12. Interpreting accounts
13. Stock valuation
Duration
You may register at any time and have a full year to complete your studies, with extensions being granted at our discretion. The ICB Advanced Bookkeeping Home Study Course will take around 120 hours of study to complete.
Tutor Support and Assessment
The course is designed for you to study at home or work. You will receive a course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support by mail and email. You will also have access to a dedicated student support line during working hours.
Each unit is followed by a written assignment, which is submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination required.
